"Wellerston and his men were to be part of the force under Colonel Showers, and, as part of the plan, their ultimate objective was the right flank. George stood at the head of his men, his fingers gripping the handle of the sword which hung at his side. It was not that he was nervous to the point of not going on: no, he had been trained much to well for that. He simply wanted to be at the enemy, to be in the middle of the fire, to be in action. But he kept silent, standing perfectly composed, knowing that as an officer, he must be so; there was no other way to do it. Duty demanded it. Honour required it. He would answer. He would not fail.
